Libertarian Justice
When we think of 'law and order' we naturally assume it to be a government function. After all, government holds a monopoly on making and enforcing laws, rules and regulations. We have been conditioned to think justice is what government does. Justice and government are synonimous. But is this really so? Observing the real world should cause us to question that assumption. Our institutions have failed us. We, the People, notice! Consider the destruction of our basic law, the Constitution. Continue with obvious and serious political differences over many subjects including the meaning of justice. Widespread corruption indicates expanding social rot. Crime statistics paint a dismal picture of failing moral norms. Violence becomes more common. Endless reports of people victimized by 'repeat offendors' and atrocities comitted by "catch and release" felons with long criminal records are testimony to the failure by govenment in its most essential duty - protecting people. As with so many other government functions, the goals are in dispute ... and administration fails. Who is satisfied?! Is this opportunity? Can unhappy taxpayers become satisfied customers?
